In a significant step towards enhancing road connectivity in New Gurugram, the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) has initiated the process of linking three key roads to the Dwarka Expressway. The development aims to improve access for residents of the region and streamline traffic flow.
To facilitate this connection, HSVP has issued detailed guidelines for land acquisition. Local officials have already begun groundwork, following directives from the HSVP headquarters.
Initially, HSVP had acquired a 150-meter-wide stretch of land for the construction of the Dwarka Expressway, which included plans to develop 30-meter green belts on both sides. However, the land for these green areas was never acquired, causing delays in linking several roads to the expressway.
During a recent survey, HSVP identified that approximately 4.33 acres of land are required to connect eight major roads to the Dwarka Expressway.
Collaborative efforts by HSVP and the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA), along with support from local landowners, have already enabled connectivity for roads dividing Sectors 110-110A, 112-113, 106-109, 102-102A, and 101-104.
However, roads connecting Sectors 99-99A and 102A-103 remain disconnected, leading to ongoing difficulties for residents in nearby housing societies.
To address these challenges, a high-level meeting was convened last week under the chairmanship of GMDA Chief Executive Officer Shyamal Mishra.
HSVP Administrator Vaishali Singh informed attendees that a four-member committee has been constituted, following instructions from HSVP Chief Administrator Dr Chandrashekhar Khare.
This committee, led by the Land Acquisition Officer, also includes HSVP’s Estate Officer One, the District Town Planner from the Town and Country Planning Department, and HSVP’s Superintendent Engineer.
Landowners have been encouraged to offer land through the e-Bhoomi portal under schemes like the Land Pooling Policy or by opting for Transferable Development Rights (TDR).
The committee will evaluate the proposals and submit recommendations for acquiring the required land.
“4.33 acres of land is essential to connect eight primary roads of New Gurugram to the Dwarka Expressway,” said Arun Dhankhar, Chief Engineer of GMDA.
“We have requested HSVP to expedite the land provision process.” Once acquired, the road connections will be completed swiftly.”
